Things you can pronounce, that are Beelicious

The story

A small, women-owned kitchen apothecary in Milan, New York.

Beelicious began the way most good things do, quietly, in a garden, with one woman wanting something better than what was on the shelf.

Meet Karin

Karin Lipke — the founder and the keeper.

"Beelicious started with the things I wanted, products I could pronounce, made from ingredients I'd actually want to put on, and in, my body. Simple, clean, useful."

, Karin Lipke

Every Beelicious recipe started the same way: Karin reading a label, not recognizing half of it, and thinking, I can do better than this. So she did. Olive oil she cooks with. Beeswax and propolis from her own hives. Calendula and lavender from the garden. Pine needles from the woods that surround her home. Honey pulled a few yards from the kitchen door. There is nothing on a Beelicious label she can't point to and name.

What started as gifts for friends, a tin of salve here, a jar of honey there , became Beelicious. A local, women-owned little brand rooted in the soil of Milan, NY, and in the steady, ancient work of the bees.

On bees, and honey

What the bees have always meant.

Hard work & teamwork

The hive is a small civilization. Every bee plays a role; nothing about a jar of honey is the work of one creature alone.

Made by hand, in small batches

Every Beelicious jar, tin, and bar is poured, labeled, and packed by Karin herself — the way the bees do it: one careful piece at a time.

Wisdom

Across cultures, bees have been seen as messengers, moving between the spiritual and natural worlds, carrying news between them.

Rooted in this place

The honey, the beeswax, the calendula and lavender — almost all of it comes from Karin's own yard and garden in Milan. Beelicious tastes and smells like where it's from.

If you've ever been handed a jar of honey by a friend, you already know what Beelicious is. Something small, made carefully, passed along by hand.
